Raja for Congress is seeking dedicated, hard-working, and civic-minded students to take part in its Victory 2016 Fellowship program.
Fellows will be exposed to all facets of the campaign: field work, fundraising, press events, policy, and more, all while earning community service hours.
We are accepting applications on a rolling basis. The Victory 2016 Fellowship ends November 10th, or two days after the November 8th General Election. Fellows are expected to stay with the campaign a minimum of six weeks. The fellowship will take place over a six-week period. Participants may be invited to stay on the campaign beyond six weeks. Fellows are expected to work a minimum of 12 hours a week during the summer and 8 hours a week while school is in session. Participants can fulfill the time requirement at any point throughout the week: our campaign operates every day from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm (11:00 am start on Sunday).
Our main campaign office is located at 100 N Barrington Rd, Streamwood, IL. Be prepared to travel in-district as necessary, although most work will be completed at the main office. Notify the campaign if you anticipate any issues regarding transportation.
Victory 2016 Fellows will learn the fundamentals of political engagement and the electoral process while becoming integral members of Raja’s team. Participants will submit a policy proposal with other tasks assigned as determined by availability and the campaign calendar. Other tasks include:
– Writing a one-page policy prompt.
– Communicating Raja’s message with voters.
– Staffing campaign events.
– Directing volunteer activities.
– Writing an End-of-Fellowship reflection.
– Other projects that may, and will, unexpectedly develop during an unpredictable campaign season.
