ILLINOIS REALTORS® ENDORSE RAJA FOR CONGRESS

SCHAUMBURG, IL. (September 1, 2016) — The Illinois REALTORS® are endorsing Raja Krishnamoorthi in this year’s open-seat race in the 8th Congressional District of Illinois that includes west and northwest suburbs of Chicago.

“Homeownership is the hallmark of reaching the American middle-class,” said Lynn Madison, President of the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® and a member of Illinois REALTORS®. “As a champion for the middle class, we know that Raja will be a strong ally in our collective desire to ensure that more Americans have the opportunity to own a home, and to safeguard that investment once made.”

A trade association with more than 44,000 members, the Illinois REALTORS® are engaged in nearly all aspects of the real estate industry related to the sale, purchase, exchange or lease of real property in Illinois.

“I look forward to working with the Illinois REALTORS® to help grow and strengthen the middle class in America, in part, through homeownership,” Krishnamoorthi said.

The son of immigrants, Raja grew up in Illinois. After college and law school, he became issues director for Barack Obama’s successful U.S. Senate campaign. He also served as a founding prosecutor in Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s anti-corruption unit.

A lifelong progressive, Raja is running for Congress to stand up for middle class families and fight against attempts by House Republicans to diminish women’s reproductive rights and to cut Social Security and Medicare that are benefits his parents and millions of other Americans rely on.
