Video Endorsement Says Krishnamoorthi’s “Plans Will Help Small Businesses Grow, Raise Wages, and Help Families Pay for College”
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (October 26, 2016) — President Barack Obama today urged voters of the 8th Congressional District that includes west and northwest Chicago suburbs to vote for Raja Krishnamoorthi for Congress.
In a web video released by Raja’s campaign, President Obama describes Krishnamoorthi as a “good friend” who helped Obama “develop ideas for building an economy that works for everyone” when Obama ran for the U.S. Senate and Raja served as Obama’s policy advisor.
The President added that as a candidate for Congress, “Raja’s plans will help small businesses grow, raise wages, and help families pay for college.”

The son of immigrants, Raja grew up in Illinois. After college and law school, he became policy advisor for Barack Obama’s successful U.S. Senate campaign. He also served as a founding prosecutor in Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s anti-corruption unit.
A lifelong progressive, Raja is running for Congress to stand up for working families and grow and strengthen the middle class.
