Congressman Krishnamoorthi recalls what it means to be “Sworn In”
During a recent appearance on MSNBC, Congressman Raja recalled a previous conversation with his son about what it means to be “Sworn In” to office. The Congressman recalled: “My son a few years ago asked me, ‘what’s a swearing-in?’ He said, ‘what swear words are you gonna be using at this event,'” The Congressman continued by discussing the chaos that played out on the house floor in the lead-up to the election of a House Speaker. “I was in the scrum near Matt Gaetz and Kevin McCarthy and then Mike Rogers, and I have not seen any scenes like that on the floor of the House in my time in Congress. I hope not to see that again.”
