In an unprecedented show of support, the local elected officials of diverse political affiliations made the following statements:
“Congressman Raja is always first,” said Hanover Park Village President Rod Craig. “He is the first to answer a text, first to pick up a call, and first to take action to fight for Hanover Park and our shared constituents. In fact, he was the first Member of Congress to speak out against the dangerous KC-CPS railway merger proposal to ensure that our public health and safety concerns are taken seriously. As a Republican who has served in public office here in Hanover Park since 1995, I have worked with a lot of politicians, and can tell you that nobody fights harder than Raja for their local community. He is our Congressman, and he must be re-elected this November.”
“Congressman Raja has been very supportive and helpful to the Village of Schaumburg,” said Schaumburg Mayor Tom Dailly. “During his time in office, he has served as an important federal partner on a variety of projects impacting Schaumburg residents, and he has my support.”
“Congressman Raja keenly understands the issues impacting working families in Elgin and champions them in Congress,” said City of Elgin Mayor Dave Kaptain. “For example, he led the national effort in Congress to successfully modernize our vocational education system in high schools and community colleges across America, and has served as strong advocate of Elgin Community College and its cutting-edge automated manufacturing program. With Congressman Raja in charge, our students and workers have a better chance at thriving in our 21st century economy.”
“Congressman Krishnamoorthi has been an incredible supporter and advocate for all constituents within the 8th Congressional District, including Hoffman Estates,” said Village of Hoffman Estates Mayor Bill McLeod. “He is passionate about small business and has done a great job working on behalf of small business owners in an effort to boost economic growth within communities. A family man, the Congressman also believes in supporting individuals and families and is always available to assist in any given situation.”
“Congressman Krishnamoorthi is a reliable ally and partner for our community in the federal government,” said Village of Roselle Mayor David Pileski. “In just the last few years, Congressman Krishnamoorthi and his office have worked with the residents and small businesses of Roselle to deliver millions of dollars in the form of pandemic relief loans and grants for our public schools, which have contributed greatly to the economic prosperity of our community. I look forward to continuing this important work with Congressman Krishnamoorthi for years to come.”
“Representative Krishnamoorthi has been very instrumental and supportive to make sure that the communities impacted by the Canadian Pacific merger with Kansas City Southern have their voices heard and concerns addressed,” said Itasca Village President Jeff Pruyn.
“Congressman Krishnamoorthi has been an advocate for rail safety in our district and has obtained funding for critical projects,” said Village of Villa Park President Nick Cuzzone. “He is willing to strive for bipartisanship in Congress to work for the common good.”
“Being responsive to the needs, concerns, and opinions of the constituency they serve is the hallmark of a true public servant,” said Village of Addison Mayor Richard Veenstra. “Having worked with Congressman Krishnamoorthi over the past years, I have found in him the rare combination of statesmanship and dedication to public service. He truly models what every elected official should strive to emulate.
“As a fellow elected official of South Asian heritage, I have witnessed Congressman Raja unite communities of differing ethnicities, faiths, and backgrounds,” said Oak Brook Village President Gopal Lalmalani. “He is a solutions-driven Congressman, a proven leader, and he has my full support.”
